MCC / Fault Analysis – Safair Operations

Safair requires the services of a dynamic individual that will be based at our Head Office in Bonaero Park and report to the Manager: Engineering. Internal candidates will receive preference.

Safair Operations (Pty) Ltd , is an aviation company based at OR Tambo International Airport, South Africa. Safair has been in business since 1965 and we are affiliated to the ASL Aviation group based in Dublin, Ireland.

Safair specialises in Aircraft Chartering and Aircraft Wet Leases. Our footprint is worldwide and we have operated on all 7 continents.

Some of our customers include NGO’s, United Nations, WFP, ICRC, Italian Antarctica expedition and various Government entities. Safair also has a low cost airline – FlySafair which operates domestically within South Africa with B737-400 and B737-800 type aircraft.


– Mechanical or Avionic qualification

– Licensed SACAA AME

– Good knowledge and understanding of a computer and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and SAM)

– Sound grasp on the usage of manufacturer supplied data and manuals

– Willingness to work shifts, weekends and on public holidays

– Must be available and willing to travel at short notice, both locally and internationally

– Type experience for the current Safair fleet.


– Hercules and Boeing fleet fault investigation

– Technical fault analysis to improve aircraft availability

– Hands on fault rectification

– Maintenance control centre duties

– Training of technical staff

– Ad Hoc duties as requested.


– Attentive and professional in conduct

– Proactive self-started capable to function with limited supervision

– Enthusiastic with high levels of energy

– Flexible and willing to put in extra hours as required.
