Assistant Sales /Commercial Controller

Sales Finance Team. This

role will report directly to Business Unit Sales Controller.

This role is key in tactical and strategic guidance for the Sales team to meet Trade Spend targets and Sales Objectives by providing visibility on controllable allowances through relevant analysis. Perform as a custodian role around governance principles, internal controls and driving deliverance of the Finance Compliance policy and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Proactively manage and control Total Trade Investments for Generating Demand, tracking expenses and revenues vs. budget providing insight and analysis on fluctuations.

Plan and Co-ordinate the Forecasting of Sales and Total Trade Investments between the Customer Teams and Business Units to ensuring alignment and adherence to business strategy.

Maintain budget and reforecast information in the planning, reporting and accounting systems to feed into the monthly business planning and the financial dynamic forecast.

Managing Sales Incentives Scheme, ensuring that correct information is collated, reviewed and processed for pay-out of the Sales force.

Be the ambassador of the Finance Community from the Sales Team to ensure transparency, alignment and proactive collaboration.

Managing Processes Reporting


Manage Daily Sales Reporting and prepare monthly consolidation and executive financial packages as required by the business

Develop, maintain and distribute ad-hoc reports Sales and financial models as needed by the business.

Leverages data and information to enhance decision making and provide insights.

Custodians of Sales processes, procedures and guidelines to ensure that trade spend practices comply with internal and external guidelines.

Utilizes Nestle Compliance Standards including company Policies Procedure to ensure Compliance

Managing Cost to Serve:
Monitor and track the evolution of Marketing and General Costs and advise the sales organisation on annual resource planning and variance tracking.

Monitor, analyse and track the merchandising costs with area business managers and advise the sales organisation on annual resource planning and variance explanation.

Customer Contribution

Promote understanding of main business drives through the use of KPI and comparative benchmarking at customer level

Be an integral contributor to the strategic review management process providing data, insights and analysis to improve net-net sales per customer

Actively participate and challenge the customer/channel strategy development process with the customer Teams and BU;s to ensure the allocation of resources in consistently with and aligned to MBS

Bring cost transparency in all CCS lines and engage with key stakeholders across functions and business to.

Key Requirements:

CIMA or CA preferred

A 3 year Post Matric Qualification Accounting / Finance Commercial Degree

3 years or more experience within FMCG

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in reporting, consolidation and financial analysis. Experience in retail/food beverage industry a must

Computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Strong analysis skills and synthesising of data

Strong SAP Knowledge.

Must be detail oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills

Ability to work well with cross functional teams in a fast paced, dynamic environment

Strong commercial experience within a trade

Confident communication and presentation skills

Financial awareness of Return on Investment
